Booking app
for holistic therapists.

Each therapy at its own pace, a quiet gap between clients, the consultation done before the first session and courses booked in one go.

Covered Beauty is online booking for UK beauty pros. From £9 a month, no booking commission, 7 days free with no card.

What is the best booking app for a holistic therapist?

The best booking app for a UK holistic therapist gives each therapy its real length, from half an hour of reiki to a full reflexology session, leaves a quiet gap between clients, gets the consultation questions answered before the first session and lets a client book a course. Covered Beauty, which we make, does all of that from £9 a month if you work alone, or £19.99 for a team of up to five, with no commission. If you run group sessions, such as a sound bath for a room of people, Bookwhen is built for classes, and easypractice has a free plan for up to two clients.

We make Covered Beauty, so we’ve also set out the alternatives and who they suit. Every figure about another provider links to its own page, with the day we checked it.

What makes a holistic diary different?

  • Each therapy at its own length. Reiki, reflexology and an aromatherapy massage don’t take the same time. Give each its own length and price, and clients only see times that fit.
  • A quiet gap between clients. Time to air the room and settle before the next person arrives, without that time showing as free to book.
  • The consultation before the first session. Knowing about pregnancy, recent surgery or anything to work around before the client is in the room gives you a record and gives the session its full time.
  • Courses and regulars. Plenty of clients come for a run of sessions. Booking the run in one go keeps it on track.
  • Descriptions that promise nothing. A health claim about a therapy counts as advertising on a booking page as much as on a leaflet, so the safest description says what happens in the session.

How does Covered Beauty work for holistic therapies?

A holistic menu from the first day

Pick Holistic therapies when you sign up and your page starts with a free consultation, reflexology, facial reflexology, reiki, an aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage and a one to one sound bath. They’re names only, with no promises about what a therapy does, and each comes with our suggested length and price as a draft for you to check. Descriptions are yours to write.

Sessions at their own pace

Give each therapy the length you really work to, from a 30 minute reiki to an hour of reflexology, and add a gap after each treatment, up to two hours, so the next client never walks in on the last. Seeing clients at home and in a clinic room? Each place can be its own venue, open on its own days.

Questions before the first session

Start from the ready-made massage and body treatments form, then add your own questions for reiki, reflexology or sound. Link it to your treatments and it goes out with the booking.

Courses, regulars and vouchers

Regulars who pay as they go can be on a recurring booking. Recurring visits run every 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 or 12 weeks, and each visit is created 14 days before it’s due. When a client pays for a whole course up front, book each session as its own appointment first. Then record the payment once on any of them and tick the rest under Also paying for, and it’s shared across them. Clients can also buy gift vouchers from your booking page once your bank is connected.

What to ask before a hands-on session, and when to adapt or wait, is in What to put in a massage consultation form.

What comes with every booking

Clients can add up to three more to the same visit and pay one deposit. They get reminder emails three days before, the day before and two hours before, and any form you link to the treatment, with a reminder 48 hours before if it isn’t done. A private form link works for 14 days and only for that client. Worried about people not turning up? Read How to stop no-shows at a UK salon.

What does it cost?

Solo is £9 a month, Pro £14 and the Team plan £19.99 for up to five people. There is no booking commission on any plan, deposits go into your own Stripe account and Stripe’s card fees apply, and consent forms are on every plan. You get 7 days free to try it, with no card needed to start. See the plans.

When isn’t Covered Beauty the right fit for holistic therapists?

  • You run group sessions. Covered Beauty books one person into each appointment, so a sound bath or a workshop for a room of people needs a class booking system such as Bookwhen.
  • You need treatment plans or charts. You can keep notes on each client’s record, but there’s no plan or charting tool.
  • You travel to clients most days. Covered Beauty doesn’t ask for the client’s address when they book, work out travel time or charge travel fees.
  • You have more than five people, or several branches each with their own staff. The Team plan stops at five people.
  • You need drawn signatures or photos inside a form. Forms are signed with a typed name, and the ready-made forms are starting points to check with your insurer.

Which should you choose?

  • Clients book you one to one and come back for a course? A direct booking system with forms, deposits and no commission, such as Covered Beauty.
  • You run classes, workshops or group sound baths? Bookwhen, which is built around classes, courses and events.
  • Only a couple of clients so far? easypractice’s free plan covers up to two clients.
  • You need a stream of new clients? Fresha, if what a new client is worth to you is more than its fee.

Questions from holistic therapists

Can a client book a course of sessions?

Yes. Book each session in as its own appointment. If they pay for the whole course up front, record the payment once on any of those appointments and tick the rest under Also paying for, and it’s shared across them.

Can I sell gift vouchers?

Yes. Once your bank is connected, anyone can buy a voucher from the Gift Cards link on your booking page, and the code is emailed to them. Anything a booking doesn’t use stays on the voucher for next time.

Do you check my qualifications or insurance?

No. Covered Beauty is your diary and booking page. Your insurer and your professional body are the ones to ask about what you can offer and how to describe it.
