How we worked this out›

Fresha's published UK pricing (fresha.com/pricing, checked 20 Jul 2026): £14.95/month independent plan (£9.95 per bookable team member on Team), 20% new-client marketplace fee with a £4 minimum, online payments 1.4% + 25p.

Covered Beauty is £9/month solo or £19/month for your whole team, no commission. Card payments go through Stripe at their standard UK rate with nothing added by us — roughly what the apps above charge for processing, so card fees broadly cancel out of the comparison.

Prices are the providers’ published UK rates, using midpoints where they quote a range — never the worst case. Commission applies only to marketplace-sourced new bookings, not your returning regulars. Your specific deal may include negotiated rates, promo periods, or add-ons that move the number either way.

Why we started Covered Beauty

We built Covered Beauty because we watched a friend’s clinic lose£400a month to commission.

She’d been with one of the big booking platforms for two years. Every booking they sent her cost her 25% of the price tag. Every booking she sent them — people who’d found her on Instagram and booked through their portal — also cost her 25%. The maths got worse every month.

When she tried to leave, her client list was locked behind a paid tier. When she asked to export her appointment history, it took six emails. Her clients were being marketed to by other salons in the same app. She felt like the product.

That’s why every page of Covered Beauty has been designed in the opposite direction. £9 a month, flat. No commission. One-click export of everything we hold for you.
