How do I move from Acuity to Covered Beauty?
In Acuity, export your appointments from Reports, then Import/Export, and upload the CSV on Covered Beauty’s Data export and import page as it is. We recognise an Acuity export and bring in your clients, every appointment in the file, a treatment for each appointment type and what clients paid online, in one go. Check the new treatments and switch them on, set your opening hours, then change the booking link on your website. Rather not do it yourself? Send us your export and we’ll do the move for you.
We make Covered Beauty, so this guide is about moving to us. What Acuity lets you export comes from its own help centre, linked below, and what our upload does is what it does today.
What can you export from Acuity?
Your appointments, with your clients on them
- In Acuity, click Reports, then Import/Export.
- Pick the dates. Run them to your last future booking, and back only as far as the history you want, as a shorter file uploads quicker.
- Choose whether to include cancelled appointments.
- Leave the intake forms unpicked unless you need them. If you pick one, Acuity only includes appointments that have that form.
- Click Export appointments. Acuity downloads a CSV.
Clients who haven’t booked in those dates
- Click Clients, then Import/export, then Export client list.
- Choose All clients, then click Export clients.
Good to know
- Acuity’s help centre says the appointments file has each appointment’s start and end, time zone, the client’s first and last name, phone and email, the appointment type, calendar, price, whether it was paid, the amount paid online, discount codes, notes, when it was booked, its label, who booked it and its ID. With an intake form picked, it has that form’s answers too.
- The client list has each client’s name, email, phone, notes and days since their last appointment.

What comes across, and how?
Everything you need to take bookings, and where each part goes.
| What you’re moving | How it comes across |
|---|---|
| Clients | They come across with the appointments file, matched by email. Clients with no email address come across too. |
| Bookings | Every appointment in the file, past and future, with its status: cancelled, completed or no-show. |
| Appointment types | Each one you don’t have yet becomes a treatment, switched off until you check it, with the price and length most of its bookings had. |
| Payments taken online | Recorded as deposits on those bookings. |
| Intake form answers | A date of birth question goes on the client. Other answers stay in your Acuity export. |
| Opening hours | Set them on Opening hours in a minute, or we put them on with your treatments. |
| Saved cards | Cards don’t come across from any system. Clients add a card when they next pay a deposit. |
| Gift vouchers and packages | Tell us what clients have already paid for and we’ll help you carry it over. |
How does the Acuity upload work?
- In Covered Beauty, open Data export and import. It’s under Setup in the menu.
- Under Migrate from another booking system, pick Acuity’s appointments CSV and press Import CSV. You don’t need to choose anything else: we recognise an Acuity export by itself.
- Check the summary: the clients and appointments added, the treatments created, the deposits brought in, and any rows that didn’t go in, with the reason.
Here’s what comes in from the file:
- your clients, matched by email, so a client with lots of bookings comes in once. Clients with no email address come across too.
- every appointment in the file, past and future, with its price, its notes and its status: cancelled, completed or no-show, from Acuity’s Canceled and Label columns
- a treatment for each appointment type you don’t have yet, switched off so clients can’t book it until you’ve checked it. Its price and length are the ones most of its bookings had.
- what clients paid online, recorded as a deposit on that booking
- a date of birth, when the file has an intake question with date of birth in its name
Upload the file just as Acuity downloads it if you can. Saved it again from Excel or Google Sheets? That’s fine, as long as the dates still have the day first and the full year, like 24/10/2026 10:00. Times are read as UK time, and phone numbers come across when they’re UK numbers.
Upload the file once: clients are matched by email, but appointments aren’t, so uploading the same file again adds the bookings twice.
Want the clients who haven’t booked in your chosen dates too? Upload Acuity’s client list as well, choosing Import clients. If the upload says a column is missing, copy the name, email and phone into our client template and upload that.
Clients with an email get your usual reminders before each future booking, as if you’d booked them in yourself.
How do I add my treatments?
Your appointment types came in as treatments, switched off. Open Treatments, check each one’s price and length, and switch it on. Got treatments nobody has booked yet? Add them either of these ways.
- Paste your price list. Copy your treatments and prices from your Acuity booking page and paste them into Paste your own price list on Treatments. Each line with a price becomes a treatment, with its time if the line has one, or an hour, marked so you can change it. Nothing goes on until you’ve checked the names, prices and times.
- Let us do it. Tap Set it up for me on the welcome screen, or on Treatments while it’s empty, and tell us where your prices are and the days you work. A link to your Acuity page is fine. We put your treatments and opening hours on and email you when they’re done, usually the same day.
A treatment that’s already on your menu isn’t added again, so you can paste a longer list in later.
How long does the move take?
- Getting your data out. Acuity’s exports download straight away, as you do them yourself.
- Uploading it. Keep the page open until it shows the summary. A long file, like thousands of clients or years of bookings, takes longer.
- Your treatments. A few minutes to paste and check them. Or we put them on for you, usually the same day.
- Your booking page. The welcome screen takes a few minutes, and it tells you if anything’s missing before your page can take bookings.
So you can be taking bookings on Covered Beauty the day you start, with Acuity still running until you’ve checked everything.
What should I tell my clients?
- Your new booking link. Copy it from Share booking page and put it in your Instagram bio, on Facebook, on your Google Business Profile and on your website, in place of your Acuity link.
- That their bookings are safe. Once you’ve brought them across, clients with an email get a reminder from your salon’s name before each one.
- How to book from now on. They pick a treatment and a time on your page, with no account to make. If you take deposits, they pay by card as they book, straight into your own Stripe account.
Check Acuity won’t send its own reminders for the same bookings as well, so nobody gets two.
Once your bookings are across, something like this works on Instagram, WhatsApp or a text:
Quick update: we’ve moved our bookings. You can book online here: [your link]. If you’ve already got an appointment with us, it’s still in and you’ll get a reminder before it. Any questions, just message me.
Rather we did the move for you?
We will. Send us what you’ve got from Acuity, and we’ll bring your clients and bookings across and put your menu and opening hours on.
- Start your free trial. On the welcome screen, under Already got a menu somewhere?, open Moving from another booking system?, pick Something else and tap Help me move. Dean, our founder, hears you’re moving straight away.
- Email your Acuity export to hello@covered.technology.
- For your menu, tap Set it up for me and tell us where your prices are and the days you work. We put them on, usually the same day.
We don’t charge for it. Your first 7 days are free, with no card needed.
Before you leave Acuity
- Keep Acuity until you’ve checked that your clients and every future booking have come across. Then change your booking link everywhere.
- Keep a copy of your Acuity export somewhere safe.
- Intake form answers don’t come across, apart from a date of birth, so keep a copy of your export.

Questions about moving from Acuity
Can I import my Acuity Scheduling appointments?
Yes. Export them in Acuity from Reports, then Import/Export, then Export appointments, and upload the CSV on Covered Beauty’s Data export and import page. We recognise it and bring in your clients, appointments, appointment types and online payments in one go.
Do my Acuity intake form answers come across?
Only a date of birth, from an intake question with date of birth in its name, and only when you picked that intake form as you exported. Other answers stay in Acuity, so keep your export. Covered Beauty has its own consultation forms for clients to sign before their next visit.
What happens to my Acuity appointment types?
Each one we don’t already have becomes a treatment, switched off, with the price and length most of its bookings had. Check them on Treatments and switch them on when they’re right.
Can I upload my Acuity file twice?
Upload it once. Clients are matched by email, but appointments aren’t, so a second upload adds the same bookings again.
Does it cost anything to move from Acuity?
No. We don’t charge for moving you, and Covered Beauty is free for 7 days with no card needed. After that it’s £9/month for one person or £19/month for up to five, with no booking commission.
