How do I move from Treatwell to Covered Beauty?
Export your client list from Treatwell Connect and upload it on Covered Beauty’s Data export and import page. Paste your treatments from your Treatwell page, or ask us to put them on. Treatwell’s export doesn’t include bookings, so bring the ones in your diary across with our bookings template. Then change the booking link on your Instagram and website. Keep Treatwell until you’ve checked everything. Rather not do it yourself? Send us your export and we’ll do the move for you.
We make Covered Beauty, so this guide is about moving to us. What Treatwell lets you export comes from its own help centre, linked below, and what our upload does is what it does today.
What can you export from Treatwell?
In Treatwell Connect
- Log in to Treatwell Connect on a computer. Only someone with Owner access can export the client list.
- Click Clients at the top of the page.
- Click Export in the bottom right corner. The file downloads to your computer.
Good to know
- Treatwell’s help centre says the file has each client’s first and last name, phone numbers, email address, notes from their client card, marketing consent, gender, language, date of birth, how many bookings they’ve made and when their record was created, where the client gave them.
- It leaves out booking details, such as treatment history, and payment information.
- It doesn’t say what kind of file it is. If it isn’t a CSV, open it in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets and save it as CSV.

What comes across, and how?
Everything you need to take bookings, and where each part goes.
| What you’re moving | How it comes across |
|---|---|
| Clients | Export your client list from Treatwell Connect and upload it. Names, emails and phone numbers come across. |
| Client notes | They come across when the notes column in Treatwell’s file is headed Notes. Rename it if you need to. |
| Treatments | Paste them from your Treatwell page, or we put them on for you. |
| Bookings already in your diary | Not in Treatwell’s export. Copy them from your Treatwell calendar into our bookings template, or add them in your diary. |
| Opening hours | Set them on Opening hours in a minute, or we put them on with your treatments. |
| Payments and saved cards | Not in Treatwell’s export. Clients add a card when they next pay a deposit. |
| Gift vouchers and packages | Tell us what clients have already paid for and we’ll help you carry it over. |
| Signed consultation forms | These don’t come across, so keep copies. Pick from our ready-made forms and clients sign them before their next visit. |
How do I bring my clients across?
- Get your client list from Treatwell as a CSV, as above.
- In Covered Beauty, open Data export and import. It’s under Setup in the menu.
- Under Migrate from another booking system, choose Import clients, pick your file and press Import CSV.
- Check the summary. It shows how many clients were added or updated, and any rows that didn’t go in, with the reason.
We look for three things, under the headings most systems use:
- a name, headed Name or Client name, or First name and Last name (or Surname)
- an email, headed Email or Email address
- a mobile or phone number, headed Mobile, Mobile number, SMS number, Phone or Phone number
The file needs a column for each of the three, and each client needs a name and an email or phone number. If your file uses other headings, copy those three columns into our client template, which is on the same page, and upload that.
Clients are matched by email, so uploading the file again updates them rather than adding them twice. Notes come across from a column headed Notes. Other columns, such as birthdays or gender, stay in your export. Clients start as not opted in to marketing, unless your file has a column headed Marketing consent.
What about the bookings already in my diary?
Treatwell’s client export leaves bookings out, so copy your upcoming ones from your Treatwell calendar. Then bring them across with our bookings template, on the same Data export and import page:
- Bring your clients and treatments across first. Each booking is matched to a client by their email, and to a treatment by its name.
- Download the appointments template and fill in a row for each booking: the client’s email, the treatment’s name exactly as it is on your menu, and when it starts, like 15/11/2026 14:30. How long it takes, its status and a note are optional.
- Save it as CSV, choose Import appointments and press Import CSV.
Times are read as UK time, with the day first. Each booking takes the treatment’s price from your menu. The template doesn’t record a deposit a client paid in Treatwell, so put it in the note. Upload each file once: uploading the same file again adds the bookings twice.
Clients with no email address can’t be matched, so add their bookings in your diary. Only a few weeks of bookings? It can be quicker to add them all there. Or email us the file and we’ll put them in for you.
Clients with an email get your usual reminders before each booking, as if you’d booked them in yourself.
How do I add my treatments?
Two ways, whichever’s quicker for you:
- Paste your price list. Copy your treatments and prices from your Treatwell page and paste them into Paste your own price list on Treatments. Each line with a price becomes a treatment, with its time if the line has one, or an hour, marked so you can change it. Nothing goes on until you’ve checked the names, prices and times.
- Let us do it. Tap Set it up for me on the welcome screen, or on Treatments while it’s empty, and tell us where your prices are and the days you work. A link to your Treatwell page is fine. We put your treatments and opening hours on and email you when they’re done, usually the same day.
A treatment that’s already on your menu isn’t added again, so you can paste a longer list in later.
How long does the move take?
- Getting your data out. Exporting Treatwell’s client list takes a minute, if you have Owner access.
- Uploading it. Keep the page open until it shows the summary. A long file, like thousands of clients or years of bookings, takes longer.
- Your treatments. A few minutes to paste and check them. Or we put them on for you, usually the same day.
- Your booking page. The welcome screen takes a few minutes, and it tells you if anything’s missing before your page can take bookings.
So you can be taking bookings on Covered Beauty the day you start, with Treatwell still running until you’ve checked everything.
What should I tell my clients?
- Your new booking link. Copy it from Share booking page and put it in your Instagram bio, on Facebook, on your Google Business Profile and on your website, in place of your Treatwell link.
- That their bookings are safe. Once you’ve brought them across, clients with an email get a reminder from your salon’s name before each one.
- How to book from now on. They pick a treatment and a time on your page, with no account to make. If you take deposits, they pay by card as they book, straight into your own Stripe account.
Check Treatwell won’t send its own reminders for the same bookings as well, so nobody gets two.
Once your bookings are across, something like this works on Instagram, WhatsApp or a text:
Quick update: we’ve moved our bookings. You can book online here: [your link]. If you’ve already got an appointment with us, it’s still in and you’ll get a reminder before it. Any questions, just message me.
Rather we did the move for you?
We will. Send us what you’ve got from Treatwell, and we’ll bring your clients and bookings across and put your menu and opening hours on.
- Start your free trial. On the welcome screen, under Already got a menu somewhere?, open Moving from another booking system?, pick Treatwell and tap Help me move. Dean, our founder, hears you’re moving straight away.
- Email your Treatwell export to hello@covered.technology.
- For your menu, tap Set it up for me and tell us where your prices are and the days you work. We put them on, usually the same day.
We don’t charge for it. Your first 7 days are free, with no card needed.
Before you leave Treatwell
- Keep Treatwell until you’ve checked that your clients and every future booking have come across. Then change your booking link everywhere.
- Keep a copy of your Treatwell export somewhere safe.
- If Treatwell’s marketplace brings you new clients, work out what they’re worth to you before you leave it.
